What is the COI Training Network?

The COI Training Network is a group of COI-trainers from governmental and non-governmental organisations in different European countries. Our trainers work for the following institutions: Austrian Centre for Country of Origin & Asylum Research and Documentation (ACCORD)/Austrian Red Cross; Czech Supreme Administrative Court; Hungarian Helsinki Committee (HHC); Jesuit Refugee Service, Romania; Subdireccion General de Asilo/MOI Spain; Polish Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights (HFHR); Refugee Documentation Centre, Ireland (RDC); The Human Rights League, Slovak Republic; United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). The COI Training Network is co-ordinated by ACCORD/Austrian Red Cross and supported by UNHCR.

The members of the COI Training Network

  • are experts in COI research
  • are qualified in the field of didactics and methodology of COI-Training
  • offer training in 12 European languages

The COI Training Network supports its members in organizing Blended Learning Courses and COI workshops.
Twice a year the network meets in Vienna to exchange experiences, discuss recent developments in the field of COI, and make plans for upcoming trainings. The members of the network benefit from each other’s experiences and share didactical ideas and input. On-the-job-training is provided on a regular basis.

In 2008 a group of COI-Researchers from the Netherlands (IND), Switzerland (OFM), Denmark (DIS), Ireland (RDCI) and Austria (Austrian Red Cross/ACCORD) developed the COI-Module of the European Asylum Curriculum, which is used as the e-learning tool for blended learning courses.

The COI Training Network is coordinated by ACCORD/Austrian Red Cross and supported by UNHCR.
